Fixie Build - before

One hard rubbish day, I took a punt and went for a spin in my car not really expecting to find anything, but then thinking I'd take a chance.

Then, literally around the corner from where I live I stumbled across this, tossed out onto the grassy verge ready for the tip

Its a c.1985 McBains build 10-speed.  Nothing special about it.  Built with bottom end components, but there would have been hundreds of kids my age at the time riding about on something like this and being pretty happy with it.

The frame was straight and in reasonable condition, but the rest of the bike was looking tired and emotional

But then I only needed her for her body ;-)

Stripped off all the bits, back to bare frame.  Then uncovered this...nothing a little handywork with the brazing torch won't fix
The powdercoating should hide the dodgy brazing!
